Four In One: Tags And Awards!

Greetings, fellow bookworms!

One of my resolutions for this blog was not to get so behind in tags/awards. I know a lot of people have a hard time keeping up with all their tags and I am sadly numbered among those people. I definitely appreciate it when people tag me, but it can also be hard to remember to do them. (To all of you who tagged me on The Providential Blogger . . . I apologize for never getting around to your tags πŸ˜₯)

Today, as I was struggling to figure out what to post, I decided to do some of the tags I’ve gotten on Rambling Reviews. Two of these (The Ultimate Pet Tag & Art Lover Award) were actually supposed to be for The Providential Blogger, but as I never got around to doing them before I left The Providential Blogger, I decided to do them here.

So here we go! I know that none of these tags/awards are really book related, but I hope you’ll enjoy them regardless. πŸ˜‰

The Liebster Award

First up, Esmeralda @ Lattes & Literature tagged me for The Liebster Award! Thanks so much, Esmeralda! (You should definitely go check out her awesome blog!)

The Rules
  • Thank the person who nominated you and include a link to their blog
  • Answer the eleven questions from the person who nominated you
  • Give eleven random facts about yourself
  • Nominate 5-11 fellow bloggers with less than 200 followers
  • Notify your nominees
  • Ask your nominees eleven questions

(Lol, the rules seem to change depending on whose blog you look at, so I guess that’s my variant. XD)

Questions

What’s your favorite season?

I’d have to say fall, though all the seasons are so unique that it’s hard to choose a favorite. I love summer because there’s an awesome birthday sometime in June . . . (*whistles innocently*) And winter and spring are a lot of fun, too.

What’s one of your current favorite songs?

Oh, lately I’ve been loving Victorious by Skillet. (After two years, it’s still my favorite song) I’ve also been listening to Non-Stop from Hamilton a lot. (It’s a great song for writers XD)

If you could visit any fictional world, which one would it be?

Narnia, definitely. (So technically, Narnia isn’t really a world, but . . .) I think it’d be so cool to go to Narnia in person and then come back and read the books. XD

Do you journal?

Yes. I’ve been journaling pretty regularly for the past four or five years. I mostly write when I’m mad, or really excited, or when something huge happens. I can’t imagine not having a journal.

Do you have a favorite word? If so, what is it?

Oh, I have a lot of favorite words! Most of them are just my favorites because absolutely no one uses them or has any reason to use them, ha, ha.

Who’s someone who inspires you?

My favorite author, Victor Hugo. Just reading any of his books is an inspiration for multiple areas of my life, but especially when it comes to writing. ❀

Another person who inspires me would be Lacey Sturm. Her music and books are so impactful and she has a huge heart for other people.

If you could instantly be fluent in another language, what would it be?

Spanish! (Then I could move on and start learning a different language πŸ˜‚)

What’s one movie you can’t stand?

Only one? XD Umm, I’d say that ninety percent of movies that have to do with a dog saving the day are really bad. I can’t think of any specific names right now, but I remember that most of them were really bad.

(Oh, I also don’t like Tangled)

What’s something about yourself that other people find surprising?

Uh, I guess there’s probably a lot of things about me that people might find surprising. Maybe just the fact that my family moves so much.

How long have you been blogging?

Around . . . two yearsish? But I only started this blog last October.

What’s a question you wish I would have asked? (And answer the question)

Agh, good question. XD I guess . . . what’s the hardest question to answer? To which I would reply . . . this one. πŸ˜‚

Eleven Random Facts About Me . . .
  • I’m currently wondering why we’re supposed to write eleven random facts and not ten, since ten is a more obvious number than eleven. Though maybe that’s the point . . .
  • At the moment, I’m reading The Man Who Laughs by Victor Hugo.
  • I just spent the last hour writing about a fictional war that’s never actually going to take place in my story.
  • I’m trying to decide if I like Duncan from The Last of the Mohicans.
  • I’m running out of things to say here.
  • I just realized that I’m only on fact seven.
  • I’m getting bored.
  • I can’t think of anything else to say here.
  • Now you’re probably getting bored . . .
  • I just remembered a whole bunch of great facts I could have used up there, but now it’s too late because I’m on fact eleven.

The Questions

If a genie granted you three wishes, what would you wish for?

Ah, this is way too hard. I guess I would wish for eternal motivation and inspiration to write. I would also wish for unlimited books by all my favorite authors. And I guess I would wish that all of my friends and siblings would always stay out of trouble and never get hurt. πŸ˜‰

Which book do you think is way overhyped?

Anne of Green Gables, if that counts. πŸ˜†

If you had to give up watching movies or listening to music for the rest of your life, which would you choose?

Definitely giving up movies.

What is one of your proudest achievements?

Um-m-m-m-m-m-m-m . . . I could probably think of something more exciting if I tried but the first thing that came to mind was finishing a five-page-long story a few days ago. πŸ˜‚

How do you organize your bookshelf/bookshelves?

Well, I read kindle books so I have very few actual books. The ones I do have I keep in my desk drawers or closet.

If you had the chance to redesign the covers for one book or series, what cover-change would you bless us with?

Ah, I don’t know. I don’t pay a lot of attention to cover design because (as previously mentioned) I have mostly kindle books.

I’m going to reuse the questions above ^^^ for this one.

The Ultimate Pet Tag

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is brush-script-thanksgiving-day-social-media-post.png

I was nominated for this by Hattush @ An Inky Dream, who is also the creator of this tag! Thanks, Hattush!

The Rules
  • Thank the person who tagged you
  • Link back to the creator of the tag (aninkydream.wordpress.com)
  • Include the tag logo
  • Answer the questions given to you
  • Ask eleven pet-related questions
  • Tag 4-8 people
The Questions

Why did you chose your pet’s name?

Well, Shadow’s name was an obvious choice because he’s completely black. When I first got him, he was super shy and he always stuck to the shadows.

Nugget’s name was a lot harder to come up with, but I eventually settled on it because he’s so tiny. He’s also a blondish color, which made me think of a gold nugget. πŸ˜†

When did you get your pet?

I got them on May 30, 2020. I always get confused by the date because it was at the very end of May.

What is one memorable story about your pet?

Oh, I guess I remember the first photoshoot we did with them. Nugget and Shadow were inseparable for the first few weeks and when we took Shadow out to get his pictures, Nugget started squeaking for his buddy. 😍 It was adorable.

Is your pet a picky eater?

Sort of. They love their beloved peppers and lettuce, but they’re not a huge fan of fruit. When I give them hay, they drag it all over their cages because they’re picky and they’re looking for the pieces that taste the best, apparently. (And it’s just something they do, which is really annoying)

What is your pet’s favorite treat?

Peppers!!! I probably give them way too many peppers, but they absolutely love them.

What is your favorite thing to do with your pet?

I love holding Shadow on my lap because he’s so sweet and he’ll literally just sit there forever. Nugget doesn’t like to be held, but sometimes when I let him run around my room and I’m sitting on the floor, he’ll come over at climb onto my lap. *faints* It’s adorable.

What is the hardest thing about owning your pet?

Probably all the time I have to spend with them. I mean, they’re super sweet but they require a lot of attention.

Have you taught your pet to do tricks?

Nope. He, he. I don’t know if I’ll ever attempt to teach them tricks . . . right now it’s not a huge thing on my agenda.

What is one thing you wish didn’t come with owning your pet?

Fighting. *sniffles* Nugget and Shadow started fighting a few months after we got them and since then, we’ve had to keep them in separate cage. I really hope that one day we’ll be able to put them back together.

What is your favorite thing about your pet’s personality?

I love that Shadow has a super easy-going personality. He’s so gentle and calm and he loves to be snuggled.

Nugget is curious. I love that he’s such an explorer. Most of the time he’s pretty cautious but when it comes to something new, you’ll definitely find him there.

If you could get any pet at all, no matter price or law restrictions, what would you choose?

I don’t think I would get any more pets. XD Maybe a tarantula.

My Questions
  • How many pets have you had?
  • What’s the funniest story you have relating to your pet(s)?
  • What would your ideal pet be?
  • Do you ever regret getting your pet(s)?
  • What’s your favorite animal?
  • What’s a unique animal you’d like to own?
  • What do you think about teaching your pet(s) tricks?
  • How much time do you spend on average with your pet(s) a day?
  • What’s your favorite thing to do with your pet(s)?
  • What’s something not many people know about your pet(s)?
  • What’s a question you wish I would have asked about your pets?

Art Lover Award

Rosy @ Rosy’s Writings nominated me for the Art Lover Award and I’m super excited to do it! (Confession . . . I may have been thinking about stealing this tag even if she didn’t nominate me XD)

Laws of the Tag
  • Link to the tag’s creator (Rosy’s Writings)
  • Thank and link to the person who tagged you
  • Answer provided questions
  • Tag your artist-y friends!!!
  • You may break these laws if you so desire.
The Questions

What medium do you use in your art? (i.e. acrylic, watercolor, colored pencils, etc.)

I mainly just use charcoal/graphite pencils when I draw, but sometimes if I’m feeling experimental, I’ll try pens or colored pencils or markers.

What’s your favorite piece of artwork you’ve ever done? (Include a photo)

Umm . . . I’d have to say that this one is my favorite, even though it’s probably not my best. I drew this bird in about two hours and I remember thinking that it was the first drawing I wasn’t afraid or embarrassed to show people. πŸ™‚ (I also like it because I literally drew it with my school pencil on a piece of printer paper, which proves my theory that you don’t need any fancy materials to draw)

What’s your least favorite artwork you’ve done, and what did you learn from it?

Oh, I don’t know. I have a lot of artwork I don’t like, but more recently I drew a picture of a(nother) bird that I don’t think turned out very well. (Sadly, my camera ran out of battery before I could get a picture . . . πŸ˜•) I mainly learned that just because I’ve been drawing more seriously for about a year now, it doesn’t mean I can skip the first basic steps and move on to the details. (Which is what I attempted to do with this poor bird)

What was the last piece of art you did?

The last one I did was a random portrait of a girl. XD I think it turned out okay considering it’s the first realistic face I’ve tried to do without a tutorial or anything.

Who are your favorite artists?

AH, there are too many. I know so many talented artists and I’d just have to list them all here. πŸ˜‚

What is your favorite thing to draw/paint?

I like drawing eyes, hands and birds. (Wow, that sounded kind of creepy when I read it again. XD) I’ve been practicing those three things for so much time that I can pretty much draw them without a ton of effort.

Do you have any art tips to share?

If you’re a beginning artist . . . don’t get caught up in the comparing game. Everyone is on their own unique drawings when it comes to art. Keep in mind that everyone has started somewhere.

And really, just don’t give up on your art!

When did you get into art?

I’ve always sort of been interested in drawing, but about a year and a half ago I started trying new things and putting myself out of my comfort zone, and I discovered that I really enjoy it!

What inspires you?

Literally anything. I enjoy drawing animals, people, cartoons, maps, nature . . . so I get my inspiration from a lot of different place.

What are your favorite colors?

I don’t do a lot of artwork with colors but I love using blue, red and some shades of green.

  3. I just listened to Victorious for the first time and that’s a super cool song! πŸ˜πŸ’™
*whispers* you don’t like Tangled? ME EITHER! I thought I was the only one. Idk why you don’t like it but I just can’t with Mother Gothel, she rubs me so far the wrong way and I can’t 🀣 (and I just didn’t like Rapunzel’s personality)
Your answer to the hardest question πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ GENIUS.
Ooh I used to LOVE writing scenes that weren’t even going to be in my story! They’re perfectly exciting bunny trails πŸ˜‚
This comment’s gonna get entirely too long if I keep remarking on every answer and fact lol, so I’ll stop here! I really enjoyed reading this post!

    1. YES, Victorious is amazing. I love it. ❀

Ha, ha, no, Rapunzel really annoys me for some reason. Yeah, Mother Gothel is pretty weird. I felt like it was uncharacteristically gruesome for Disney to make her die the way she did. 😢 I didn't really like the songs, or the acting. Or the storyline. So pretty much all of it, ha, ha. But it's okay. My little sister loves it so I've watched it quite a few times.

Exactly! Those scenes are so much fun to write!

Aw, thank you so much! I love reading your comments. 😁❀

      1. Yeah!
Right?? It definitely had potential, but after watching it, I couldn’t understand the hype. πŸ˜‚ haha that happened for me with Moana! I liked the movie okay, but when Elizabeth fell in love with it, I ended up memorizing all the songs lol
        You’re welcome! aw I’m glad! πŸ˜„πŸ’•
